ABON R&D team, in conjunction with the Innovacon R&D team in San Diego, California, and other members of the Inverness Medical Innovations dedicated to develop the lateral flow rapid immunoassays for rapid in vitro diagnostic uses.
The ABON R&D team uses most current knowledge and information, cutting edge technologies to develop many lateral flow rapid test products destined for the markets in the developed and developing countries all over the world, including United States and Canada of North America, Japan, Australia, European Union, Israel and Eastern European countries. The scope of the products developed in ABON R&D team includes rapid tests in fertility, infectious disease, drug of abuse, tumor markers and cardiac markers. There are over 100 FDA 510K cleared and the CE marked products in our category. The number of new products developed by the R&D team expands each month and/or quarter.
ABON R&D occupies approximately 2,000 square meters or 20,000 square ft. of the lab space and office. At this moment, the ABON R&D team consists of approximately 100 highly trained scientist and technical people, divided into 5 technical units: reagent research unit, lateral flow research unit, product design unit, equipment development unit, and formulation unit. ABON has applied for and obtained numerous patents in the U.S., EU and China as the results of our R&D activities. The patent position on the lateral flow rapid test products with the Inverness Medical Innovations family is generally be considered the strongest in the world by our peers.
